Whimsical coffins from Ghana in the British Museum's new Sainsbury Gallery of African Art

 

We thought we had bad seats to Arsenal v. West Ham (left) until we saw our view at Arsenal v. Spartak Moscow (right). That's the upper deck of the stadium blocking the top of the field of view, and some guy obscuring the bottom part. Both good games, though.

 

Front and back of a replica of a Turing bombe, which was used at Bletchley Park to break the German Enigma cipher machine. This is a prop used in the upcoming movie Enigma...

 

...and so is this mock-up of a U-boat, which really has no reason to be at Bletchley Park other than the movie company not having anywhere else to put it. Note my little tuff of chest hair sticking out of my shirt; very seamanlike.
