Danny's Visit to Cairo, May-June 2001

Danny has taken plenty of pictures the old-fashioned way, but Rob took some with his digital camera that, through the magic of modern technology, he can share with you right now.

Part 1: Hope Village, Moqattam Branch. We took Danny to a part of town tourists don't usually see to visit the boys at Hope Village. (It's worth noting that completely without prompting the kids quickly discovered the metallurgical properties of my abs.)

Playing "pile on the foreigner" with Danny Karate-chopping kids show Danny that Egypt isn't so different from home after all

"Pile on the foreigner" with Rob (see if you can find him)... ...and Julie

Julie has a photo taken with her new friend, Khadiga, at Khadiga's insistence. (At least, we're pretty sure that's Khadiga -- we're kind of taking her on her word)

Part 2: Felucca on the Nile
Cruising the Nile at sunset Danny thought that, had Jim known there was a Gold's Gym on the Nile, he might have come

Part 3: The Pyramids at Dashhour
Pyramid of Senefru Danny poses at the base of the Bent Pyramid, demonstrating why one should not wear earth tones on such a trip
