Swinging Bachelor iPad

Anybody who has ever been to Dubai will tell you that if you had to use one word to describe it, it would be "classy". If by "you" they meant Carmela Soprano.

But now the hippest Emirate will outdo itself by building a 23-story tower modeled on Apple's popular iPod, complete with "docking station". It's called -- wait for it -- the iPad.

Watch for tenants to complain about the 12-story scratch that appears across the front of the building a day after the unveiling.

Frosty's House

Much more than Santa Claus, "Frosty Snowman" looms large in Isabel's understanding of Christmas. This has a lot to do with a local home that is festooned with seasonal decorations which Isabel has come to know as "Frosty's House".

Bobby gets bundled up for a visit to Frosty's.

Isabel lavishes affection on her favorite styrofoam snowperson.

Bobby wonders why nobody else is wearing a silly hat.

These Kids Today...

Today the FCC announced that it is eliminating the Morse code testing requirement for all classes of amateur radio license. I am eager to look with contempt at the whippersnappers licensed under the newfangled, wussy rules. "Why, when I got my General ticket back in September of ought-six, you had to know your SK from your AR!"

In a related story:

She has a point.

"Big Party! Balloon Party!"

Today was Isabel's second birthday, and she's been talking about the impending party all week. Some of the highlights:

Holding hands with guests Josie, Pedro, and Jimbo.

Opening presents is a lot easier when you have help.

Making a wish.

Making music together with one of Isabel's new toys.

Moo Here, Moo Here, Moo Here

Isabel takes a break from her noodle lunch to sing "Old McDonald". Sorry for the lousy camera work, but the appeal is really in the audio anyway.
